Griftin' Gosar

Representative Paul Gosar is a former Dentist and current Representative of Arizona’s 4^th congressional district. One of the longest serving members on our list of crazies, holding office since 2010, Gosar is a pretty typical conservative on the surface, anti-healthcare, abortion, and of course gun control. However, like everyone else on our list, his penchant for unconscionable positions make him high on our list of priorities.

White Nationalist

Gosar has a history with white nationalism. At the national introduction to the alt-right, the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Gosar claimed that the rally had been backed by George Soros and simply created by the left. While parroting Info-Wars talking points is sadly no longer uncommon, Gosar likes taking things a step further as he has supported extremist militia groups like the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and in 2014 joined 5 other Arizona state legislators in Bunkerville, Nevada to take up arms against the Federal Bureau of Land Management. Finally, as the cherry on top, in February of this year (2021) Gosar was the keynote speaker at the America First Political Action Conference. This lovely gathering was hosted by Nick Fuentes the leader of the Groypers, an extremist, anti-Semitic, white nationalist, hate group. Along with that, Gosar was joined by everyone’s favorite racist, former Iowa Representative Steve King, who Gosar tried to reinstate in 2019.  Oh and while Gosar attempted to distance himself from the January 6^th capitol riot, on the 6th he was advancing the conspiracy theory that Antifa was to blame for the violence.

Gosar comes from a large family with 9 siblings, so it was surprising even to us to find out that 6 of his siblings endorse his opponents in congressional races.  33.3% isn’t even a passing grade in history, let alone tacit support from your siblings.  If not even his own family can stomach him, why should the American people? 

"Climate Change is not real!"

Gosar does not try to hide his stance on the environment as he is a proud denier of global warming.  Not surprisingly his legislative decisions have mirrored these views. He has introduced legislation to repeal the authority of the National Park Service in relation to oil drilling, and submitted articles of impeachment against the then EPA chair Gina McCarthy.  With our environment on the tipping point, the last thing we need is a fervent climate denier, who isn’t afraid to act on his ignorance, in Congress.
