/ Sen. Josh Hawley

Inglorious Josh

Cold, calculating, unprincipled.  Senator Hawley is never one to let an opportunity to stoke division pass by.

The Big Lie

In a cold and calculating move, Josh Hawley became the first Senator to say he was going to vote against the certification of the election of Joe Biden.  He was the first to set in motion the events that led to the violent insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6 and even saluted the rioters outside the capitol. His hometown newspaper’s editorial board (St. Louis Post Dispatch) slammed him on the eve of the

4th of July for “Contempt” of Democracy.  His mentor, GOP Senator John Danforth said after Jan. 6th that supporting Hawley was “the worst mistake I ever made.”

Justice only for people like him

While he was Attorney General of Missouri, Hawley joined 19 other Republican AGs and sued the federal government to overturn Obamacare, including protections for those with pre-existing conditions. He even created a special unit whose sole function was to sue the federal government.  He called it the Federalism Unit.  The unit not only sued to repeal Obamacare, but sued to stop environmental protections, protection of endangered species and supported conceal and carry laws.

Racism Doesn't Exist

Never missing an opportunity to appease Trump’s base, Hawley tried every procedural move to stop Kiran Ahuja’s nomination to head the Office of Personnel Management, because she had supported the idea that systemic racism exists in America.  He claims that educating our children about how racism is a part of our country’s history somehow diminishes us as a nation.  This is yet another of his cold and calculating moves that is about dividing us rather than uniting us.
